Wall hangings and plaques

My wall hangings are inspired by my garden - an acre in south Shropshire. Full of trees, flowering shrubs, bulbs and perennials. Many of the bases of my embroidery start with paint - but only in a very abstract way.  Paint splashed on and allowed to dry becomes inspiration for my art. My stylised flowers are often based on plants in my garden such as clematis, daisies, allium and seed heads.

I love vibrant colours as well as soft shades and my embroidery reflects this. At times I like to leave the natural world behind and use lots of texture in imaginary pieces.
