I have stitched since I was a child - I taught myself to dress-make on a 1920s Singer hand sewing machine - similar to the one pictured in my logo shown here.

These days I use a basic Bernina to "draw" in threads using just straight or zig-zag stitching.  My favourite method is to use a special film or fabric on which I build up layers of stitch until it is safe to dissolve them in water. I assemble various pieces together to make free standing flowers or trees or I can add them to a base of fabric for 3D effects.

 

I also enjoy splashing paint on fabric and drawing flowers onto panels to make into lampshades or wall hangings.
