Welcome to the world of Jane Fairweather, Textile Artist
My name is Jane Fairweather and I am a textile artist living in the beautiful countryside of south Shropshire. The area is an "AONB" - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - and the landscapes surrounding my home are the inspiration for my work.
I am best known for my tiny three dimensional pieces of machine and hand embroidery in vintage teacups and other vessels. Each piece is a labour of love and is unique. I use my knowledge of art to embroider realistic pieces of textiles such as trees, shrubs, flowers, views of my garden or the countryside.
I also stitch wall hangings, miniature landscape pictures and brooches. I teach my 3D teacup oak trees and other workshops to Embroiderers' Guilds and other textile groups. I also do special commissions.
